Birmingham events this weekend!

In a city as vibrant and busy as Birmingham, there’s never a lack of things to do!

Birmingham City Centre

But this weekend in particular, there are endless things to do and events to attend to suit everyone – from whisky and gin lovers, to families with children! Events are taking place in the city centre and beyond, so you’ll be sure to find something to suit whatever you want to do and wherever you want to go!

We’ve researched some of the amazing events going on this weekend, and we can’t decide which one we’re going to attend! Check them out for yourself and let us know if you decide to attend any of these great events!

Brums Big Fat Pizza Festival

Hosted by Taste and Liquor, Brums Big Fat Pizza Festival celebrates the incredible cheese and bread based Italian dish. There will be pizza on offer (obviously) made by some of the UK’s top pizzeria’s, and there will be a few additional street food vendors supplying the sides and other pizzas! An array of food and drink will be on offer, with a bar at the venue. Entertainment will be provided in the form of 80s kids’ films being shown in the TV room, DJ sets, free face painting for any little ones and much more!

The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival

The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival is the first of its kind and celebrates the hit TV show! The event has been co-curated by Steven Knight, the shows creator, and will include immersive theatre, live music, fashion, a museum, food, drink and poetry – all inspired by the show and the post-WW1 era that it is set. The historic streets of Digbeth will be the host of the event, with warehouses and factories in the area employing lighting, sound, smoke and video to really bring the era to life.

Midlands Whisky Festival

The Whisky Festival is organised by Nickolls & Perks and is a full day of whisky tasting! The event features over 300 whiskies to try, along with food pairings, whisky talks and array of masterclasses! This is definitely an event for whisky lovers to widen their knowledge on the drink and enjoy different brands!

Moseley Gin Festival

The Prince of Wales pub in Moseley host an end-of-summer gin festival yearly, and this years’ event is this weekend! The festival features some of the best gins on the market, with over 100 different types on offer. There will be award winning street food, live entertainment, giveaways and much more. The ticket price includes a free welcome gin and a token for one full meal from one of the street food vendors at the event, amongst other benefits.

Birmingham Heritage Week

Birmingham Heritage Week is organised by Birmingham Museums Trust and is a city-wide festival that celebrates Birmingham’s rich and diverse heritage. 70 partner organisations come together for the 10-day event, to organise over 100 events, such as exhibitions, tours, open days and concerts – all across the city.
